a Shrine Maiden (also known as Miko) are maidens in Shinto shrines (not the same rank as priests, closer to altar boys). They sweep the shrine, do ceremonial dances, perform music, flank the priest at prayers, freshen the offerings, operate the fortune telling lottery, and in most modern shrines run the knickknack and good luck charms shop. Historically, they used to be mediums and oracles. they can also be hot!
LIKE REALLY REALLY HOT!!!
no seriously, THEY CAN BE HOT!
and lest we forget how lonely it can get at the shrine...
So come all, to my shrine...
and help me build the most awesome collection of shrine maidens!
