This was from 2020.Just keep in mind that qBittorrent will leak your real IP by default if you're using a VPN. It probably doesn't matter for most people here, but it matters for people living in countries that are strict with copyright.
https://github.com/qbittorrent/qBittorrent/issues/12505
I can confirm the issue myself. That's why I mentioned it. The problem is not with the kill switch, I use a VPN with killswitch too, it still exposed my real IP.This was from 2020.
Also, this was posted here too, not to mention that the author couldn't even replicate that issue.
"
Currently this happens on two occassions...
- You start qBt with VPN disconnected(even with VPN interface selected).
- Your VPN disconnects/crashes while qBt is running. Some sockets get reopened on the main interface even though you selected VPN interface.
The latter got fixed in latest libtorrent. And the former will get fixed in qBt probably before next release."
In any case, anybody using a VPN i'd highly advise to activate a killswitch, so when the VPN disconnects for whatever reason, the internet connection is immediately cut.
NordVPN has that feature implemented (atleast for Linux) very well. No clue about Windows.
qbittorent is good. But most vpns wouldn't work with it unless you configure it.been using utorrent but recently seeing many recommending qBittorrent. any one has any take on qBittorrent?
or Windows Nord and Bulletvpn works natively with qbit. But Surfshark leaks your ip, same goes for hotspotshield. There are workarounds, but still not fixed natively. This was from 2020.
