How to login/register on nyaa torrents?

I seem to be having trouble getting into nyaa no matter what I do
Does anybody have a solution?
Their irc channel of theirs doesn't work and it won't let me in with a new account and says
"You're ip is banned from making new accounts"
and if I try to login with current credentials it says "account login activation failed"

Is it because my ip address is from india?
