About FilePV

Is it just me and my adblocker or does FilePV no longer offer their services unconditionally? They keep blocking and force you to install this dubious app (Unlock-R), which may / may not extract your private data from your devices. I'm not keen on finding out the answer myself.

I made this post after another user made a similar remark on this issue.

If that is the case, all user should report the app Unlock-R on the apple/playstore for abusive behavior.

This definitely smells like a collusion between the two (or they're owned by the same entity). Either way, there's no chance the appstore / playstore will take our reports seriously (this is Apple and Google we're talking about). We're gonna get Half-Life 3 first, before they'll even bother to check their emails.

If enough users file complaints, the app store will temporarily take down the app for review, and they're likely to uncover issues. Usually there are two teams:

The first team conducts a surface-level examination and approves the app quickly, often within a day, when you just publish the app.

The second, more rigorous compliance team scrutinizes every detail of the apps when you get enough report.

I have experience developing mobile apps for both iOS and Android platforms. Not too sure if they still do that but that was the "covid/post covid" mode.

Yeah, their program refused to let me submit the report citing "We couldn't submit your form yet. Please fix the fields above." when I most definitely followed all their Goddamn proper procedures and formats, down to the T. This is after they made me read through all their long-ass violation descriptions. What a great waste of time.

Classic Google, they're as incompetent and infuriating as ever. This is exactly what happened when you hire dingbats whose job is playing around all day, instead of proper coding. Fuck this shit, let's just stop using FilePV. I'm a fucking idiot for expecting Google to do their job properly. Fuck Google and fuck their spaghetti code.

Excuse my language, but honestly, they deserved it.

I wouldn't use FilesPV. Not sure about the site because my antivirus flags it as dangerous. Perhaps it pertains to the Unlock-R? If my antivirus is blocking/cautioning the site then maybe the site is also sketchy and not just the forceful ads/downloads?

Up until not too long ago, FilesPV was fine. It's only recently that it start forcing you to install the dubious app. Practically all the reviews on playstore says that Unlock-R a scam, which makes it even more dubious. The developer boldly claimed that they won't extract any data without your consent, but I'm not buying that BS. I recommend to evade Unlock-R at all cost and just ditch FilesPV, they're sussy as hell.
