Ryoko Kannami (Shuri) appears at the Okusa Keiko Law Firm, where Keiko Okusa (YOU) is the director, and says, "I've decided to try being a lawyer." While young lawyer Yoshihiro Sugiura (Jesse) is confused by Ryoko's background, Okusa readily accepts her.
Ryoko also volunteers to defend Ryo Shioya (Riku Hagiwara), who has been charged with instigating suicide. He reportedly sent a message to his girlfriend Sae Kawano (Karin Fujiyoshi), who had attempted suicide in the past, saying, "Go die." Sugiura advises that it is not possible for a newbie to do this, but Okusa orders him to support Ryoko.
During a meeting with Shioya, he apologizes to Sae for her suicide and says that he himself had wanted to die.
Ryoko goes to talk to Sae's people, but there is no way they will listen to Ryoko, who is the defendant's lawyer, and Ryoko, who is stuck in a corner, takes an unexpected action.
