Game seems to need Japanese locale to play with readable text, but then it crashes when trying to load/save. Anyone else experiencing this?

I happened to me the same and had to download "Local emuletor" only way I run

Tried this but just using Locale Emulator/Applocale still results in weird characters like dashes and such inserted in the text.

Are you a Windows 10 user by any chance? Because ever since the RS2 update to the operating system, these games have lagged big time. Start up especially can take over a minute sometimes. I find the longer you play a session, it starts to speed up a little but, but its never smooth. Its vexing.
