Bakemonogatari Question

This has been bugging me as of late, and I was hoping someone could help me with this?

I have been wanting to start this series, but with so many season and spin-offs, etc, my question is this: How is this Anime made to be watched?

Start with Bakemonogatari. It is intended that you watch that first.

Then you can watch Nisemonogatari, but in my opinion it is MUCH worse than bakemonogatari (which is basically my favourite anime). Then you can go for Nekomonogatari which actually takes place before bake, but would probably watch kind of weird if you hadn't seen bake yet.

How confused would I be if I started with Neko? I have a "problem", and it would bother me to watch something, and then something else that takes place prior to the first.

Watch them based on their release. While Neko and Nise are prequel and sequel, they are more like a branch of Bake. For example in Bake there was a mention of Koyomi helping Tsubasa in the past and the The Tsubasa Neko arc. Nekomonogatari was the branch of this story that explain the past relation of Tsubasa and Koyomi. So is Nise with regard to Gahara's past and the nickname of Koyomi's sister.

If you haven't wanted it yet. Wait til they make Kizumonogatari. The author didn't release his novels in order. The plot is scattered all around the place. They did the same thing when shaft released the anime.

it's not that A LONG time actually, it's coming in 2014. if you start watching the series from the beginning slowly instead of doing a speed marathon, you will manage to catch up with Kizumonogatari just in time.

Then Hanamonogatari too.

I think it is often much more interesting when the author writes things out of order. Then they can keep a strong control over what information they give out or withhold as you go along.

they have a pisspoor record of keeping to time, or money to budget for that matter.

aint holding my hopes up for it anytime soon.

i was disappointed when they did Nisemonogatari or some OVAs instead of Kizumonogatari at first. But i was pleased when they started 2nd Season. They are going pretty good actually, i can smell some moni. After having a long second season instead of some short OVA, i am having my hopes up for it this time.

i do agree, this season has been great.

managed to turn the worst character in the series to one of the best. too bad ararararagi-san has become some what stagnant in his role as the main character.
