I'm guessing it was a hard drive issue. They aren't that expensive but you may have lost your OS, Share some pictures with us !!

While this topic might be just a joke, in reality a Power Supply Unit for PC can actually burst in flame when failed (especially the cheap ones which has no safety features). The capacitor in it can literally explode and make a loud bang - similar to firecracker sound.
