It's often more about not getting unwanted attention from the social justice gatekeepers (redacted)
Cryptocurrency is invented exactly for this reason. So that the "big brother" can't thought police you on what you can or can't buy, with your hard-earned money. Too bad that too many bad actors used it for scams, by exploiting the general public's ignorance of how it works. Now the public trust on it is at an all-time low. I hope this isn't some government's conspiracy to eliminate crypto.
FYI, cryptocurrency can't be used for investment (can't as in impossible). Anyone who says so, is running a total scam (like Logan Paul). Crypto is made for the sole purpose of evading government's ban filter, because you're buying things that they don't like for whatever reason. Nothing more, nothing less. Just treat it as points within your point card for your local supermarket or arcade.
It can't store value in long-term like a traditional asset, because there's no one's guaranteeing their value. If there's one (like how Sam Bankman Fried tried to be), then that's just your traditional money in digital form. Digital money that can and is easier to be controlled by the government. Which defeats the whole purpose of crypto's existence.
I remember when the central bank tried to issue crypto, which is absolutely bonkers to me. Crypto is literally created to be their biggest enemy against their filthy overreaching fingers. Government-issued crypto is the same as captcha. Created to block bots, but ended up working against humans and letting bots run rampant. In other words, a total failure and a certified scam. I truly hope that there's nobody stupid enough to buy crypto from the government. Might as well give your credit card number, your computer's password, and the key to your home to the big brother.
BTW, don't vote for full cashless guys. You can use digital credits for the sake of convenience, but cash as a payment option must stay. No matter how much into the future we are. Thanks for coming to my TED Rant.
