Game auto exits randomly issue

Game installed and mounted via pAlcohol. I was able to start the game, but clicking on certain option from main screen such as "continue" or "load save" and the game will automatically close down. On top of that, even starting a new game, after a few minutes it will randomly do the same. Lastly, I'm not able to navigate to a "save" option while playing.

Game is [テトラテック] 桜の庭 released back in 2000. I'm running windows 11 and have country/region set to Japan. Is there any fix for this issue? Thanks.

I have ran into this problem and solved it in other games so I'll try my best to help you. It's possible it might be a compatibility issue. Try this:

• Right click on game executable.
• Click Properties.
• Click on the Compatibility Tab.
• Click Run Compatibility Troubleshooter.
• Select Troubleshoot Program.
• Check 'The Program worked in earlier versions of Windows' box and hit Next.
• Select 'I don't know' and hit Next.
• Click 'Test the program'. This will start the game. Go ahead and click on 'load save' to save if it closes.
