Hey,
I'm Firebird, from the UK. I'm currently the leader and founder of Hiryuu Fansubs and was pressured (well, advised) to come join anime-sharing by ONC.
About me... hmmm...
Well, I'm very much perverted. I like my ecchi as it were, and I've been known to dabble in the odd hentai. Though I do watch other genres of anime too of course. I got into anime some years ago, but only really stuck to Bleach/Naruto then when CR picked Naruto up, a whole new world was opened before me and I started watching lots of other stuff on CR... then went further afield to grab stuff from the fansubbers themselves. There's still a lot of anime 'classics' I haven't watched, but I'm getting there!
I got into fansubbing itself less than a year ago, it started very simply with shift timing to DVD raws and editing a few lines. It just sort of grew from there. Seto Sun was a big help as I was getting into it. But my first 'proper' timing job was actually for Shimeji Subs, though I had done various k-timing/encoding jobs for Kira beforehand too. I timed it horribly, because I had no clue about lead ins/outs back then. Now, I consider myself a decent timer and TSer.
Let's see...
I tend to like Tsundere characters, and you can see some of my favourites below in my sig (which aren't all Tsundere, I'm aware).
I used to be a big gamer, but since I started fansubbing that's died. I don't watch much TV and I'm not big into the sports. I work 9-5 and earn a decent wage (yeah, all the non-anime stuff is boring huh?) that pays for all my bad habits.
I'll be honest, I'm not overly active in any of the forums I'm a member of, even the one I admin. I'm not the most social of people, and don't have all that much time on my hands. I will pop in from time to time of course, but don't expect 50 million posts a day. I apologise in advance!
I tend to spend most of my 'animu social time' on IRC as opposed to making forums posts.
I have seen corocoro around a bit, though never spoken to him. In fact I've noticed the linkage to Hiryuu content on this site made by that very person too. Thanks for that. And I never noticed it (because I likely wasn't paying attention) but every time ONC linked me a script, it would be hosted on here. So, another thank you there I guess.
As you can likely see I do ramble on quite a bit.
