I don't think "watching" threads works

I assumed that this a subscription button that would notify me about every new post in a thread but instead it notifies me selectively on some of the posts, I though I'd 'subscribe' to those manga pages uploaders make and post new stuff periodically, and what do you know? no notifications came when that happens, example of a thread I'm talking about.
I mean, I'm kind of disappointment that there is no reliable way to track content on this site, not counting direct replies to me, what i get bell notification for after clicking 'watch' button are some of the comments in an extensive discussion thread, example. Despite having daily posts, having subscribed to this thread i only received notifications about 2 times, and that was already a week ago. Edit: well that thread just got a new post and this time I got a notification, I really don't understand why it ignored almost every other post and notified about that one, was it because I opened that thread recently?
So i don't even know what this functionality supposed to do at this point and what the logic is, maybe I'm placing different expectations on it, and I would like it if someone cleared out this confusion, if it's no trouble.

It actually notifies you about every unread post in a thread. However, if you were active in the thread at the time a post was made, you won’t receive a notification.

Please check your account preferences here:

https://www.anime-sharing.com/account/preferences

to ensure that all the notification settings you want are correctly configured.

And it certainly notifies me every new thread created in the Support section.

I don't know bro, I think I have everything checked out and notifications are still spotty. But I found this page https://www.anime-sharing.com/watched/threads, which works just as well for tracking threads for me

What difference will that make? Ok, I have had them enabled for almost 2 days, and they work as well as alerts which it to say they do not.

I apologize for any confusion my previous message may have caused.

Upon reviewing my internal knowledge database, The notification system only sends an alert for the next message after you have read the prior alert. This design is intended to avoid overwhelming you with excessive notifications.

Currently, there is no way to override this behavior. However, in future updates, we could introduce an option that allows users to receive alerts for every reply.
