Rapidgator Premium only links, what for?

Just like the title. Do they get money or something? I swear I don't understand why most uploaders (not only AS) use this, I don't want to get a premium account for each upload platform nor do I want to get a debrid account when I don't even need to always use that service THAT much, and free debrid services don't work for me (or most uploads have sizes that are above the free limit).

So yeah, was just wondering why the 'premium only' was an option used by most uploaders to begin with?

I'm not complaining, only genuinely curious. (well yes I'm a bit salty over not being able to access them when all other links are dead but beggars aren't choosers lol)

While ASF does not encourage premium-only links, we do not outright ban them either.

However, we strictly prohibit the use of premium-only links on all mirrors. Uploaders should always provide a selection of links that are available for free, even if the bandwidth is limited.

yeah that's what i hate about them tbh, or there is a ridiculous size limit (like i found one rumored to work well but it had max 120MB size for rg links? i was like bruh

One other reason is: the premium-only links tend to live longer. It's a small contingency plan, in case previously shared games become "extinct" due to no uploaders left to share them / maintain the longevity of the links.

I've seen ancient links from a decade ago that is still alive 'till this day. Color me surprised.

thats true but if no one can reupload them in a way they'll be available to everyone it's kind of useless TT unless you have an account/debrider but you'll have to pay real money for them, which beats a bit the purpose of sharing for free

When that happens, we'd have to ask someone who's not flat broke and have a generous soul in this site, to help download it for us.

If they reupload it and give you a premium-only link, well... you're outta luck. It's their indirect way of saying "support me or buy it yourselves". Happened to me a couple of times. You'd have to suck it up and subscribe, or just give up at that point.

Less common reason would be: the developers (all the way from Sushiland) got a wind of this website, and "aggressively asked" the uploaders to stop pirating their booties. Hence, the uploaders kinda have to be "discreet" about it and share it through their DMs. But that'd mean said uploader's DMs would get flooded with requests. Hence, they're "mitigating" it with premium-subscriptions.

I know, tough choices indeed. Which is why let us be celebrate the generous reuploaders and contributors, and try not to offend them too much. They're the literal lifeblood of this site. I've seen many reuploaders quit due to time constraints and resource limitations, but some quit due to insufferable conducts by the users of this site.

i bitched about it as an answer to your reply since you talked about it being the last working link and whatnot, well yeah but if you cant use it it's not really a "last link" its more of a "lost game/manga/etc. unless you pay" which is pretty different^^

and if i have to pay either way unless it's something that cant be bought nowadays for a fair price, it's straight up better to buy the actual thing and support the company or individual with the copyrights

I'm surprised that you as uploader you are not aware of Affiliate Program that most upload services provide. To be honest RG is and still best among them in term of speed and reliability.

I been having premium account for over 10 years now (They increased the price :\ ) but as u said a lot of uploaders use them in verse websites other then AS for that reason

Yeah although I'm an uploader my number one requirement for uploading platforms is anonymity so I only use PixelDrain, also I believe I shouldn't gain money by sharing things, it feels a bit too disrespectful towards the writers/companies ^^; But that's my personal opinion ofc! Sharing is caring but using piracy to make money is just plain wrong (imo, you do you). Donations are fine though

Appreciate your thought towards others, but personally i still find RG links are attempting since i can download at my maximum internet speed of (500 mbits) regardless of the size not to mention the limitation that comes with it on file size and time require between each file
