In case Windows 10 x64 doesn't work, I have confirmed the operation of this game on Japanese Windows 7 SP1 x86 (VirtualBox 6.1)
*Textractor gave me a warning ("WARNING injected process is very small, possibly a dummy!") but I was still able to hook text successfully
*Was also able to successfully install the voice patch (voices were heard when playing)
Full Story:
Initially installed on Windows 7 VM...Got "There are not enough files to run. Please install it again." I could install but when I try running the game, I get the message stated previously (which is MTL of the Japanese popup I got). Tried installing on D drive first, then C drive..also tried using voice patch and it asked me to reinstall main game.
Then I tried Windows XP Professional SP3 (Japanese) 32-bit and got the same error when I installed on D drive with a custom folder. However, C drive worked with default installation path C:\あんく\百舌鳥ノ贄 (meaning the game ran after installation)
After learning the above, I tried Windows 7 again, this time installing on D:\あんく\百舌鳥ノ贄 instead of D:\mozuno (or whatever custom folder title I went with originally)...and the game ran fine
