Summer can't come soon enough! Amatsutsumi (アマツツミ), 千恋*万花 in glorious HD and Aokana -ZWEI- !

Early summer hype has landed. 3 amazing looking eroges in the horizon. I love Yuzu-soft so it is exciting to know that they are releasing their first eroge in full HD! Aokana ZWEI by sprite....What more can I say. I think by now everyone that has read the thread for Aokana knows how much a fan I was and it's awesome to know that they are releasing a sequel. I will pray for the eroge gods 2 things: Make it a +18 novel and make a Reiko route. It's pretty confirmed that there will be a Saki route or that she will be focus so one less worry there. I mean they pretty much have to. I mean both Rokka Kitami and Yuka Kotori are more than comfortable doing eroge, it's like sprite was setting them up for the sequel. Here is the sequel, you have seiyuus that do +18 work, the version that sold the most was the +18 version. MAKE IT +18 AND MAKE A REIKO ROUTE GODDAMMITTTTT! AND IF SPRITE WILL BE GENEROUS THEN ALSO...Make an Aoi route. It would be awesome if she was like the grand route. I mean that was kind of the cliffhanger in the finale...

But I left the best for last. Amatsutsumi has the potential to be the best of the year (for me at least). Great OP song that reminds of a KEY game (That is a very good thing). Koku is at it again as the main artist of the game. I like Hiro Tsukimori too but Koku's style is hard too replicate and it's quite good and it's one of my favorite illustrators (#3 actually). Also 2 big points that kind of go hand in hand. The first one is that the writer and director will be no other than Mikage (御影). Mikage is the writer and/or Project director of most of the games of Minori. The director of its best games (Ef and Eden, Supipara) and writer of the the rest, except Tsuminoko Rendezvous. Also director of D.C from Circus. This will be the 2nd game that Mikage writes for Purple. I will be the first to admit that Chrono Clock wasn't the best from him and Purple but I will cut him slack. He was a writer and planner there. He works best when he is supervising and directing. And guess what? As of now it appears to be that he has full control of the project. That is awesome, because when he gets full control we get cool shit like Ef and Eden. But also it means one thing and that ties in to my second point.

Recently Mikage has had a knack for writing some pretty erotic and sexy stuff. He is one the the very few writers that I know of that can blend eroticism with story and character development really well. And to further my point this appeared in the getchu website on the introduction: エロさも増し増しの期待作 !! That is my proof. This might be the most erotic inclined game from Purple. And judging from the interview from TechGian, it might not be too far fetched to call it the most erotic game from purple yet. We'll see of course but I just want to let you guys know that the proof is there. So what is the 2nd point? That Koku will be UNLEASHED! I am a fan of Koku's doujins and artbooks. Koku can get pretty riled up in the erotic. With the direction of Mikage, I believe Koku will finally draw as the Lord intended. If you get an erotic director and a erotic illustrator that is in the scene, you can have a game that has the potential of becoming the best Eros game in the getchu end of the year ratings. AWWWMYGAWWWDTHATSAWWWAWEEESOMMM!!!1111

Ok since Mikage is behind the game expect a couple of his tropes: BCG Porn, At least 4 h-scenes per heroine, a protagonist that has no social decorum and/or special abilities, a heroine that is inmune to the protagonist abilities and that such heroine will probably will be the main heroine. And from those tropes, here is the play order: Kokoro→Kyoko→Mana→Hotaru. Reasons? Kokoro is the normal girl that finds Makoto as serves as the introductory heroine to the novel plus is an imouto character. Kyoko is the girl with a problem that can be overcomed with the help of protagonist. Mana is the childhood friend with more powerful abilities than Mr. Protag (Favorite heroine, not even a question) and Hotaru is immune to the protagonist abilities, plus she is pretty much the poster child of the game. So in all Mikageness, the more related the heroine is to the protagonist conflicts, the more relevant she is to the main story.

So yeah, pretty much I am having premature Summer Blues. Expect write up of Aokana ZWEI and Amatsutsumi when they come. Thanks! Bye Bye

Mikage in the webpage released a developer column where it talks about the major problems and complaints of Chrono Clock in a strange act of reflection and fan feedback awareness. Sure Chrono Clock was subpar, quite subpar actually, compared to other Purple eroge but it was by no means utter garbage like other examples I could site. It was mediocre, nice and simple. This is great and it shows that the brand and Mikage wants to be the best it can be. Also in that info release he talks about a rather nice insight on the writing and directing process. Quite refreshing to have this on the website instead of forcing you to buy TechGian or Push!! to get such interesting content. And finally, they released the story progression chart and it confirms the route order predictions of the heroines I gave. Spot on! Hotaru in the main.

Given how big she's displayed in the background of the official game site (http://www.purplesoftware.jp/products/amatsutsumi/index.html), I also assumed her being the final playable route :).
Speaking of Chrono Clock: My only major gripe with it was that Miu's route didn't really feel like an individual route and was way too short as such. And Kuro's route was strange, very strange.

Speaking of which that was one of the major issues thy talked in the editorial. The individual routes felt too short because it moved from plot point to plot point. And that left character development with room for improvement. As we are speaking, I am downloading the trial. I am going to write my impressions as well.

Mhm, I can only comment on Misaki's route as I did Kuro and Miu's only by savegame usage, but Misaki's felt later on a tiny bit dragging. Maybe because the confession was basically the end of her route and the reversal of the usual structure itself felt a bit strange? Well nothing too bad, though.
