Yuruyuri manga creator Namori announced on Sunday that production on a new Yuruyuri anime project has been green-lit. Namori thanked his fans for their support, and asked them to continue to Yuruyuri together with him.
The Yuruyuri anime adapts Namori's manga about four fun-loving schoolgirls who take over the former room of a tea ceremony club for their own "Gorakubu" (amusement club).
The first anime series premiered in Japan in July 2011, and Crunchyroll streamed the series as it aired. The 12-episode sequel series Yuruyuri♪♪ aired in 2012, and Crunchyroll also streamed that series as it aired. JManga and ALC Publishing released part of the original manga digitally in English before JManga shut down last year. NISA has licensed and released both seasons in North America.
