I found it pretty good. Each brought the humor and comical style that blended well with each other.

Did the anime live up to the manga, respected the original series, or just plainly did very well?

For me, the anime was a success. :3

Like I mentioned earlier, I watched the anime first and then dived into the manga.

That is success if you're making people crave more or want to read the original series~
