Effects of porn on you

What do you think, does pornography have a noticeable effect on your life? Do you feel less motivated to look for a partner because you can just whack off real quick and be done with your urges? Do you perhaps become jealous of these people on the video getting all the action? I know some people report that masturbation seems to kind of lower their self-esteem, motivation, and overall energy. When talking about combating depression, some people suggest stopping fapping among other things. Does masturbation work negatively for you too or does it help you relieve some stress and just relax for a bit? And is it even exciting at this point, considering how much you've seen?

Then there is the problem of unrealistic expectations. I've read that porn often gives people wrong ideas about what sex is actually like. After all, it's fake, and the point of porn is to look good, not feel good. So after seeing all that hentai\etc, young people might be disappointed to find out that the real thing is quite different, which can make them lose interest in sex. Fantasy seriously taints their sense of reality, which can be really dangerous. Do you think you can avoid that happening? Are you always able to distinguish fantasy from reality?

To be quite honest, I'm not sure. I've never had a girl in my life (cuz I'm just some random dude, amirite?). But porn can be good and bad I guess? For me it keeps me motivated that I'll find a woman, keeps the stress levels down, and you get to see lots of things other people are in too, from the most vanilla to the most bizarre. So I'm not sure, because I can't really speak for the average guy, but that's porn to me, well in my case Japanese porn (because hentai is just a fancier way of saying it.)

And when it really comes down to what type you watch or read in some cases, the expectation of an actual porn star vs what I believe sex is, I would have to say reality isn't as cruel, unless you believe every guy or girl is a porn star, your standards would be pretty high. To me, a porn star is expected to act a certain way, heck any guy I've seen last for more than 10 minutes and stay hard, is either a porn star by birth or is gifted by whatever hand placed it there. That's as much as I can explain it. Anyone else had the same feeling?

IMO, it's kinda bad in the sense that it certainly is easier than actually getting a girl (or guy) to do that kind of stuff.

For me it pretty much is stress relief and sometimes, if I've got free time, I just say to myself, why no? even though I'm not 100% in the mood for it.

IDK it's weird.

This is more of a combined situational thing than it is just related to porn since most the women i ever had anything to do with were just in it to use me since i was a lonely sap while everyone around me had a loving significant other, but i lost my will to even try getting involved with women anymore then just plain friendship, just use porn for the urges and that's all. I don't have any deep rooted hatred for females just for what several did to me, but i don't feel like wasting anymore time or resources trying to find any of worth.

I'll answer most if not all your questions to the best of my ability.

1. It does, but I won't go into any details though.

2. I don't feel motivated to look for a partner, however porn and masturbation are not the reasons to why I am not keen on looking for someone. They have no affect on my motivation.

3. I am not jealous of people having sex in videos. Far as I think, it is just loveless sex made for the entertainment for whoever sees their video.

4. Relieving myself does help me relax when I have the urge. Masturbating (moderately) has no negative affects on me.

5. Don't know what you mean by "what I have seen". If you mean the porn I watch, then I guess. I would not watch it if it did not excite me.

6. I can avoid losing interests in engaging in actual sex.

7. Yes. It is not difficult to separate exaggerated, acted out, unrealistic porn of any kind from reality.

I think it makes me more lazier when i finished watching it, it also makes me guilty but i kept repeating it again and again. i kinda repent for what i done (watching porn) but that urges keep telling me to watch it again and again, and i fall into this endless loop.

The effect of porn on me was my right hand fell off due to over use. :D

Unrealistic expectations is probably the biggest one for most people, but that's one you will get over. I think it's easy to forget that the average porno is filmed (or in other cases animated) specifically to have an element of fantasy, and the participants were selected (or designed) close to peak physical form, given plenty of guidance, and everything is choreographed to fill an allocated time limit. When it comes to the real thing, you'll quickly realise that physically you don't measure up, in more ways than one, but it's ok.

The idea that it seriously taints their reality isn't going to hold true unless you're seriously messed up to begin with, same with the idea that you get "jealous of these people on the video getting all the action". I don't think most people would be put off from dating because of porn, it's more an outlet (especially for hormonal age kids) than anything, not a substitute for companionship.

It has distorted my sense of what is possible in relationships. It has heightened my standards and my aspirations to unattainable heights.

Today with all the ritual you have to do in order to get into a relationship, I just lost motivation. Porn just helps release everything.

I don't think it has a noticeable affect..it's just another hobby of mine

My lack of interest in looking for a partner has nothing to do with my interest in porn....I just don't think love exists so why waste my time going after such a thing?

And masturbation is still exciting at this point in my life

It is not the porn that affects you, it is the permanent state of erotization our wold has been indoctrinated into.
Every single add contains some promise of fullfillment, just "buy our shit". All those happy faces that will finally accept you and make you feel worthy, for once in your life.
The porn is not on ph, it is out there already smack into your face. You dont even know yourself when you are not in a state of erotization.
Ecuating sex as acceptance is very damaging to the society as a whole. Sex as a means to procreate has nothing to do with sex as an act in itself.
Judaism, for example, has strict rules that apply to the day to day living. To stick your nose in the sacred books and study the laws on god.
See how radical/fundamental jews live, they do not watch the TV, no internet, have no cell phones. Their solution is 99% ritualistic and every single activity is prescribed.
While some people in our world try to preserve their identity through thorough isolation of their clans, "some other people" are pumping porn out there in the media, all kinds of porn not just xxx stuff.
Ask yourself who owns the media, wink wink. The identity desease is very prominent in US where "they" identify as something and before "they" can explain what "they" are "they" already have gotten a new identity. You know who "they" are.
And ask yourself if it is in your own interests to consume all this garbage that consumerism is trying to shove up your face all the time.
At first it makes you happy, you have obtained the object of your desires, but it does not last. The subsecuent "happy moments" become shorter and shorter.
The solution to boredom is to switch to anohter value, if this video game becomes "meh", install another one, get bored again, repeat the process.
At no point is tho option to "let go" is even mentioned at all. We live in an "acquisition" age. If one set of values does not fullfill you then try another set of values.
All voices yell "try our shit" and promise to make you happy.

It is a war on your mind. "Some people" are pouring garbage down your throat and expect you to swallow it all and say "thank you".
Masturbation is a symptom of the state of erotization you are in.

Try letting go. Also read/watch about nondualism.
Forgiveness, surrender is the way.
Renunciation.

I like pornography, I consume it daily for my job as an uploader, but I don't usually masturbate, maybe a couple of times a month to avoid some kind of ill-health like prostate. ;)

To be candid, as someone who is quite supportive of masturbation and has watched porn on phim sex, I believe it has a strong allure that can easily draw people to view it repeatedly. This can quickly turn into a compulsion or even an obsession for many individuals. While this isn't true for everyone, some people do become very fixated on porn.

Rather than forming real human connections, these individuals often replace them with images on a screen or in print. This is where the problem lies. Watching porn occasionally and then continuing with life without becoming preoccupied with it or treating it like an addiction generally doesn't cause harm. However, some people tend to latch onto something or someone, making it the focal point of their lives. Porn should never be that focal point for anyone.

I never expected to find this thread in a forum where the majority are porn lovers

I was exposed to pornography at a fairly young age, during junior high school

The influence was that I became fond of viewing semi-hentai images (because at that time the internet was still difficult to access, not like it is now), apart from that, maybe every 2 days or so I always masturbated before showering, lol

Continued to high school, well here I found a partner, but I still did all my lust by masturbating

when I entered college that I was lucky to meet my ex-girlfriend, and she was the one who taught me about sex, well every time we came home from college we always had sexperiments together, one of the references was hentai.

and now, well, pornography is like an addiction, even though it's not as addictive as when I was at school, but I feel like I have to reduce my pornography consumption, because I also become dissatisfied with having sex with my partner, lol
