Hongfire offline?

I feel like Hong Fire had it's good run but I wonder if they'll ever make a comeback under a new name?

What was sad with the death of HF was the lack of simply saying "goodbye, the site will close in x weeks/months" from the admin.
Simply disappearing is the worst outcome, compared to announcing officially.

HongFire (the owner) is gone, no contact since 2018 that I know of. Even before the site went offline, he had pretty much been ghosting any staff who tried to contact him. The writing had been on the wall for a long time. The site was covered in JAV ads and spam, and most members had stopped visiting because it was so bad.

That said, a good number of HF's old active posters have ended up on Discord. There has been talk of starting a new forum, but it's probably not going to be a reboot of HF per se. Most of the modders do seem to have moved on, and sites like Anime-Sharing are already doing the DL/torrent thing.

Hong Water (洪水)?

We have one person on Discord who won't stop suggesting Dongwater.

If Hongfire's owner disappeared, then probably not.
