What's your very first Otome game?

I'm always interested on this: What's your very first Otome game? How did you first stumble into the fandom? Did you stumble upon it yourself or from someone? Is it the story, the character, the graphic, the BGM, the voice (aka the seiyuu) or all of the above perhaps?
-------
In my case, I was not into the otome fandom at first. Sure TMGS was my first ever otome game I have on NDS but I was more of a RPG-type of gamer then ww I remember of trying TMGS purely because I was on a break from trying to fully complete the RPG game (I can't remember what it was now w) I was playing then and found the premise refreshing. However it was D3P's Last Escort: Club Katze that made me to eventually own a PSP (one of the consoles to have for otome games). Plot-wise, it was decent, nothing exceptional but the graphic, the BGM (anything with jazz and I'm sold) and the voice (I put all blame on Suwabe Junichi) just did the job |D I believe from then on, I became more and more into otome game (and seiyuu and other complications w) and that's my uninteresting initiation into the fandom.

What about you all?

Starry Sky in Spring *feels*

Two years ago I met with someone and she told me about otome games. She recommended StaSka as the first game and I played it. The funny thing is that I have played Suzuya's route for two times and didn't play the other routes because I didn't want to cheat on my first husbando <3 That's how I started playing otome games @w@ Also my second and third games were LoveRevo and TYB Super Mint which I don't recommend as the first games.

By the way, the reason I played Suzuya was Ono-sama <3

For me, sadly but surprisingly my first Otome game was Black Wolves Saga ~Bloody Nightmare~

First is purely because of the art and my love for wolves (family) *looking at Rath*

Then, I found the music was addicted *now i think about it, as expect of rejet, they got me hooked on them*//shot

At that time, i didnt understand Japanese very much/ actually i didnt understand anything at all and still do now (compare to before it's a huge achievement). Thinking about i spend hours of looking up and reading the translation.......I sure got patient :nekopara_puzzled:

After that i goes for PSP and then.... TMGS, Brocon, KengaKimi,.....

Lastly, another level is dramacd which i totally cant live without one :nekopara_dead:

I think what i rememberes was the tmgs series and hakuouki... lol
i remembered even though my japanese was still so bad, i am still playing the game just for CG ;p

Akazukin to Mayoi no Mori was my first otome because it drew my attention with its art and, fairy-tale-like atmosphere. I still like otona -san >///< nice yandere. I remember I spent quite time trying get it work on my computer...

I regret going for D3P's Last Escort and QR's School Wars as my first games to be played on PSP ; A ; After playing those two games, StaSky becomes rather.......sadly lacking? To think I was so excited, getting the chance to play them after being able to enjoy indirectly from reviews |D Suzuya huh? The Waifu Kareshi wwwwww LMAO so did you end up two-timing your first husband with whoever your second husband? hoh

Eh? Why wouldn't you recomment LoveRevo and TYB Super Mint? They're both adorable w Perhaps TYB might be a bit..... since it's Rejet's..... but LoveRevo shouldn't pose a problem no?

Having Rejet and BWS as your first step into otome.................... If it were me, it'd be hard for me to find decent games with Rejet as the standard wwwww gosh BWS......... /laments

TMGS too? Could Kei be your bias then? w CG could be a great motivator in completing games while one's skill in japanese is
still severely lacking; Those good ol' days....... w

Akazukin as your first otome eh? Niceee 8D I commend you on your boldness. Even though the art was so tempting, I didn't have the guts to play that as my first otome wwww well, even now.... /shot

Wow! A Rejet game as the first game! :puniko_shocked: And the most guro one! :puniko_shocked: And your psychology is still okay! :puniko_shocked: I respect you!

StaSka isn't one of the best otome games out there but since it doesn't have a complicated plot or a story(ふわふわラブラブeverywhere) and it's rather easy to understand for a non-Japanese person it's one of the best games for a starter. After playing a few more games and replaying StaSka I also got that lacking feeling.
Yeah I have cheated on Suzuya with 120+ husbandos so far but not the other characters of in Spring! lol I love the other two as well, though. My second husbando was Iori from TYB @w@
The plot and story of TYB is too deep and too much feels(&guro) for a starter. As for Love Revo, the system is too complicated that I couldn't get an ending for 15 times. And then years later I played the game using a kouryaku and got the ending smoothly! It was a real trauma for me fhsdjkl

Lol you can tell? It was surprisingly good and horrifying that i still remember the game clearly. Even now, my love for wolf and rath never cease

Fear me and my love for otome since i serously have a hard time playing another otome game after BWS:nekopara_innocent:

ChihiroAoki: haha you think? I remember of trembling when first play (dunno how did i survive)

Tokimeki Memorial 1st Girl's Side ^0^ and I'm still liking this series, will be forever in my heart lol

Tokimeki Memorial Girls Side 3rd story on DS and even now Shitara Seiji has a special place in my heart :nyanmusu_sparkle:

I started playing otome games much later than most.
So, my first was Hakuouki and Amnesia which then I started down the rabbit hole with Diabolik Lovers.

I believe it was Starry Sky in spring a couple of years ago. I already liked visual novels, but I had no idea that they had a market aimed at girls. I was really happy to find out =p. This game was what pushed me to finally start learning Japanese ^^

May i ask what is your though about DiaLovers :nekopara_innocent:

Honestly, I hated the game but in order to finish it I had to play the game in pieces. Several months later, after playing Black Wolves Saga-Bloody Nightmare and Last Hope, Gekka Ryouran Romance and some other dark games I eventually replayed Diabolik Lovers again. It more tolerable then when I first played. I just hated the wimpy heroine, plus being used as a consistent blood soda machine.

My first otome game was Tokimeki Memorial Girl's Side 2nd... I forgot XDD But yeah, I had lots of fun with it and I still do when I feel like playing it.

... I kinda wished I had something more interesting as the first otome game, but I really don't... T_T I remember that I used to avoid games without an English Patch but that quickly went away so I played games in Japanese anyway despite my small knowledge of Japanese back then. Welp, at least I still replay them today with my kind of improved Japanese skills ^^'

Lol i think i kinda understand Aine about that, but i really dont care, i was just like heck no and then.... off i go without any understanding in Japanese. At that time i really depended on my ears (and still now) but it's has its own fun :nekopara_pleased:

My first Otoge is a bit embarrassing; it was Vampire Knight DS... yeah I was a bit younger, liked the manga/anime and didn't understand as much as I do now.
I played it on an emulator and it was...not good but it got me craving for more games wwww
And here I am spending too much money and time on games and merch OTL

My first otome game was X-Note by Zeiva. That's a otome game, right? If it's not, then awkward...haha....:reallyconfused:

Starry Sky in Spring.
But it wasn't the first visual novel I played, but still this brings back memories.
I'm so grateful to the translation team that started the Otome t/l revolution.

The first one I ever tried was Hiiro no Kakera 1 in 2009. I was really slow back then (after 2 years of learning Japanese) and was totally exhausted after one route and gave up. The reason I took a look at this was because the art of Hiiro no Kakera 2 caught my eye the year before (during my first Japan trip). I even found and bought the game for the PS2 but never played it. I have almost every game from the series now on my shelf but to imagine that I still didn't finish any of them... I also bought Hakuoki together with HnK1 but only finished it in 2012, hehe...
:gakuran_late:

But the first game I actually finished was S.Y.K - Gensou Saiyuki Gaiden in 2010.

The villain is still one of my very favorite characters and I even did a fanart in... 2011? IS IT REALLY ALREADY THAT LONG AGO?!

I do still like this artwork...

And I love the fandisk of this game to death. 50h game finished in 5 days.

PS: I'll never learn how to attach images properly, lol.
