Ooh and Mishima Yukio's (dude in my avatar) work is considered the best of Japanese post-war literature.. I really recommend reading some of his work if you like heavy and controversial themes, with background knowledge of Japanese politics and history may help make readng the pieces a lot more worth wile (o´'∀'`o)
and Marcel Mauss is a renown French anthropologist, this study looks at the relationship between social structures and different types of exchange/trade/"gifts" in northwestern America, Polynesia and some other places I haven't gotten to yet
