Now I actually feel honoured by your description. And yeah, I guess that's not that uncommon. As a matter of fact, the other admins are pretty much similar to me in that they have interests in Japanese stuff, but hardly anime and manga like most others. I personally had interest in all of them―anime, manga, games, visual novels, you name it―although I gradually lost interest mostly in anime and manga. I met the other admins on an eroge blog, from which we then formed a staff unit and founded the site. And yes, I quite like Hanazawa Kana. I like a bunch of behind-the-screen people such as voice actresses (rarely actors), writers, illustrators and the like.
4-5 years? Awesome; you probably have more experience than I do at such a young age. I started using Photoshop somewhere in 2009, although I never got serious and was basically just messing around with signatures. I see, it makes sense that designers like yourself were originally people who messed around with posters and photography. When you're used to blending real-life renders with effects and backgrounds, I guess doing so with anime characters is considerably easier. One thing that I notice, though, is that there's often a stark difference in style between a girl designer and a guy. But I understand that probably half of the satisfaction in making graphical pieces comes from the comments from people around you.
Nah, nothing wrong with being a little talkative at times. It's a fun conversation anyway.
