Yeah, but I only played the 2nd half Eternal Punishment. The First half was never released in the U.S. until recently.
I played the 2nd persona it's okay, but a lot different from 3&4. Persona 2 is divided into 2 games.

I don't really like playing as a girl either, especially when all the guys in Persona 3 were hitting on my character and asking her out on dates it made me feel weird LOL. But it's worth playing as her just to see a different perspective. And the PSP version has a few new social links, and you can also control every party member in battle, not just your character.
This is Yukiko in Persona 3 for the PSP when you meet her in Inaba, it's only available if you choose the girl as the main character, I played the English version of course
