Try this one.
I render using the Pen Tool as well.
Depending on the image/image resolution it might take a while but If you take your time, you end up with really nice and clean renders.
There's also the Magical Wand Tool which select everything of the same color or something really close to it. And the Quick Selection Tool as an option as well
