can someone explain what the difference between playmodes are when you first start?

The left choice is normal play, the right is easy mode where you basically select a route a get a ride to the ending but you cant see the bad endings and some of the side stuff this way. The thing on the bottom is for inputting some sort of code that frankly, I have no idea what it does.

Anyways, anyone have an H-code for this, or some other way to force ith or agth to pick up the text? Tried to dig into it a bit to find a way to change the font but couldn't find it easily so I gave up.
