It's not a perfect code (contains a bit of extra file name text on some lines.)
Best font to use is ＭＳ ゴシック and bolded reduces some of the file name text added to the hook.

For me, when I tried it on 1.00b, it caused the game to crash on ITH agth, and it didn't bring up any text threads on VNR or ITHVNR.

Probably... as long as your computer's basic specs are good enough. For some reason, VN engines keep getting bulkier even though what they are doing hasn't changed appreciably in most cases.

You might have to do some of the usual troubleshooting required with pre-Vista machines playing post-7 games.
