I had it too. It seems you have to set the Formats tab in the Regional Languages dialog to Japanese, not just the non-Unicode setting.

I have a problem, I installed the game, run the patch, but then.... the game doesn't start, a black window opens but it closes in an instant.

It's not the same problem about the format configuration. It's different, the game window opens for an instant then close without starting the game.

is for "永遠神剣　サードデスティネーション" (永遠神剣 Third Destination) not for "聖なるかな　Special Edition" u.u

i played the regular one, i didnt know there is for special edition. so i decided to play this one as well.
i installed the game and ran つ (NoDVD EXE) AlphaROM 3.3汎用 signup tool 110722, but the game wont start and still ask me to insert original disk.
what should i do? im using windows 8.1

but people say the patch is work...

i check my jap loc and turn everthing to jap setting...
inculded date and keyboard... and somehow i can run the game...

Message says:
"Install data is broken. please reinstall"

so try reinstalling, or even better, redownloading and then reinstalling. I recommend doing a clean install (uninstall, delete all folders, install)

Okay, for those who see this on these dates and have problems with the error hr8007049c (nobody puts solutions once found ... but they require them xd) you only have to change format, location and regional settings to JAPANES, amm yes, I wanted to kill myself when it was fixed by changing the 3 formats .....

@Subunki Only runs in WIN XP and change region .. already don't remember what tried the in game, I played a route and i did not play it again xd.
