Probably around Higurashi. I don't think it's meant to be so much scary as a really interesting variation on the yandere concept. This is just my guessing, since reviews on EGS and other places don't really play up the 'horror' side of it. It's actually probably going to be more along the lines of the old denpa games - more 'what the hell is going on' than scary.

Susuki Shinichi is a guy with no unique qualities and whose daily routine frustrates him. He puts his name under a romance novel club at his school, but in reality, he doesn't associate himself with any club. He has a complex about being stuck in the background and ignored by his childhood friend-turned-class idol, Miyuki.

Sone Miyuki, the purple-haired girl, is the academy's idol who is gifted with both beauty and smarts. Although she was Susuki's childhood friend, she hides it at school and does not talk to him. She excels at the academy's drama club, and is great with a baseball bat; a skill she practices for the next drama club performance, which revolves around softball. She loves cats, but unfortunately has allergies to them.

Mukoi Aoi, the pink-haired girl, is a denpa (nickname for people who act bizarrely. The slang was coined from people who claimed their actions were caused by electromagnetic waves or denpa they received.) who has trouble paying attention in class. She walks around with a smartphone with no reception, and her pastime is sending messages to "God" from the roof of the school. She also has trouble gauging distance between people.

The plot begins with Shinichi's attempt to teach friendless Aoi how to socialize with people. Shinichi asks Miyuki for help, and the three of them start to spend time together. As Aoi begins to warm up to Shinichi, Miyuki draws closer to him too, rekindling the suppressed feelings they had from childhood, and pushing the three further into a love triangle. It is cracked, however, the game has one more copyright protection built in within the game. Do they have the package or manual still? We need the serial number from it to proceed with the game near the end.

no wonder so many reviews are listed on review sites, I thought it's just because it's a nitroplus game...
for the first few hours I had no idea why so many people wrote about it, as the game felt rather flat, just barely enough push me through, until...

they are getting better and better at writing this type of hg story xD

but I've just had my first 'surprise' so dunno how this is gonna end, will come back after finished everything

Thanks for the upload, but how exactly can we run the game? I put the patched exe into the folder, but everytime i run it the authentication thing always runs.

Edit: Oh never mind, just had to run it from the new exe from the folder, was running from the shortcut created when installing the game

You need to enter the code on the tokuten or package near the end of the game in order to keep going. If you don't have it, you're stuck/screwed right before the conclusion of the game. It's pretty frustrating since it kinda leaves you at a cliffhanger.

Does anyone know if there's a way to bypass this? Will the DVD version in August get rid of this?

Also I haven't really searched to see if it is true, but if the game can be trusted then save data is probably not interchangable between comps and that there are some selections that are generated at random. Quite the hilarity.

I'd have to sit down and play through the game again from after the final choice to say anything substantial. Far as I can see though, they have managed to take their design concept to the logical extreme. Not quite sure what you want to see from the followups.

Aoi pwnz miyuki... imo. MC is a bit weird tho, i kinda dislike all his stay in status quo thing, well, in the beginning is all the same damn common story of the normal MC and popular osananajimi that he thinks he sucks too much for her and stuff. Of course things get more complicated...
