Apparently you need to add the game to your Steam Library as a Non-Steam game to get this to run. Just got it to work.

i tried to add the .exe file to steam but it didn't show up on library, then i created its shortcut on desktop and then added that on steam, then it did show up on library but it then gave me a could not run the shortcut error, any help? :C

if adding the game into steam library doesn't work, try changing the game folder name into something simpler like Corona Blossom.

for me the first time the game gave me same error. than i installed steam and did the set up, the game still gave me same problem. i even went in the steam and added the game into its library. at the end what i did was changed the game folder name to just "Corona Blossom" and the game worked. after that i wanted to test something so i uninstalled the steam and played the game again and it worked just as good.

to put it simple i don't think you even need steam to play, you just make sure the name is simple as i mentioned above and no japanese character. for some reason adding the japanese name or any other language beside english name on the folder and even subfolder will make the game not run and give you that error.
