If this is true but the last route is still unavailable, you can go to the title screen --> extra (or something like that), and the route unlock button is right over there.

Sounds like you need to change your OS's format to Japanese.

Control Panel > Region > Format > Japanese.

Originally, I only had my Locale set to Japanese, and then ran a Locale Emulator; both of these allowed the game to run. It's after the first scene after which MC meets the fairy (god) in the VN art, where it fades to black and runs into an error:

I have also set my OS format (and region) to Japanese, but the crash at fade to black still happens.

I'll link an image of the crash dump if you are able to decipher said dumps.

Did you run the game exe straight from disk?

If you did, then either try to install the game first or copy the content of the disk somewhere and run it again from there.

If you didn't, then try running the game as administrator (right click the exe > run as admin).

If the error message is in Japanese then I might be able to translate it for you (in that case, do post the screenshot), but if it consists of memory addresses then I have no clue (in the case of the latter, don't bother).

I probably failed to mention that the error is one that Windows throws out, not the game.

Run from disk, run from installed files, run as administrator, I've done all that.

Thanks for the help so far though, I might have to ask of Microsoft Support in order to figure out what the problem is.

Sorry for being not much of a help, but as a last resort, you could try reinstalling DirectX and Visual C++ redists (only the 32-bit ones) and see if it solves your problem.

I talked to Microsoft earlier today, they can't help out with crashes related to non-Microsoft products. Was worth a shot anyways.

I managed to get the game working again after a clean install. Might be a problem with the latest 4.7 NET framework that kept getting in the way of something, cuz I see that name get thrown about. Maybe it's some Windows Update, dunno?

But a clean install fixed it right up. Now its getting my ITH and stuff working again.
