yes, after Lamar taken back the SOPA bills, it's as good as dead, but no one will know if it will be revived it again, as we are now facing another major threat, filehoster stopped their services and now this ACTA...

Actually ACTA was here way before SOPA/PIPA came into play, about 3 years before when the draft leaked. Ironically when I was moaning over ACTA few months ago nobody seemed to care lol.

People should have been more aware of ACTA from the start, as it's essentially SOPA in international scale rather than the States only. Worst part of it is that if your country doesn't cause enough uprising to stop your government from signing the treaty, it's pretty much dead end for you.

So far, eight countries; the United States, Australia, Canada, Japan, Morocco, New Zealand, Singapore, and South Korea, has signed the agreement, and I heard it was effective almost immediately. God knows what happens over there...

Malaysian news has no idea about the SOPA or any organization a like and some didn't care about anything. The fact that piracy is not good, but these fools cannot just dismantle our freedom just like that due to the "moral panic" theory that come in their minds.

We almost like the prison inmates with blunt information almost half in everything and we often picked the wrong thing that give no benefit but increased more idiotic ideals with no care about the consequence.

It doesn't matter which origin of these organization but the bottom line is these eventually screw the people since they only care about something that benefit to the group only. And I can tell you this, the more you feel about the "patriotism" to blame what to screw or not to screw will only make one as the shallow minded fool which only concerned the good of the country. Maybe you right about don't blame US for the bill but think about it, will we still screwed even if the bill didn't bass to another for some ridiculous crap?

ACTA actually has been proposed long time ago but almost not all country (even NATO) approved it yet. ACTA is proposed to support free trade area in some countries.

The problem of ACTA is actually not for internet world only but the problem is ACTA will make strong country (you can see this which country signed the ACTA and which country did not sign the ACTA) with a lot of copyright/product/company become stronger while weak country (most of ASEAN, Middle Asia, Africa) get weaker and weaker (they can only be a consumer).
