Game was not bad, just not that great.
Loner, I'm quoting you here, but I'm not trying to pick on you or anyone else specifically, so don't take this personally, I'm just bringing up a point that's really been sticking with me lately.
If that game is not a great game, then we are going to be waiting for a 'great' game forever and aren't likely to get more than one a decade, if that. On a scale where 10s don't really exist except for 9s you upgrade because you(second person plural, mind) personally love them, the new Anim game is straight up an 8/10 NTR game for its intended audience and anyone who really likes the genre. You could downgrade that to a 7 if you don't care for certain aspects or up to a 9 if it really does it for you. It's superlative to most of its competition in most aspects whether you're basing it on production values or story or whatever. Naturally, there will be some people that just don't care for it for whatever reason and there's no accounting for taste(if a person prefers netorase they won't like it as much, someone that hates loli will call it shit and be done with it, etc.), but if we're trying to be objective, it's a very good game. Great, even. And that's coming from someone who doesn't much care for Daniel, who's a huge part of the game.
Again, I'm not trying to single you out because this is a pretty prevalent attitude here, but I think a lot of people really take for granted that they get these games for free. There's a large undercurrent that is near constantly trending towards, 'Yeah, that was okay/good/great, now what's next? Give me more!' We're not making these ourselves, so we can't shape the stories to our own whims and I think all of us will always want more, but that also needs to be tempered with a little appreciation for what we do get. Especially when we're served up something really good. I'm not trying to accuse people of anything. A lot of people here don't even have the option to buy games, even if they have the means, so I'm not to get into any sort of debate about that, but I do think that people that don't have to pay for something are often the harshest critics because they have no stake or investment in the thing.
Sorry, I just find the negativity here a bit shitty sometimes. We should try to enjoy and appreciate things and pick out the good bits when we get a good or decent offering or even sub-par offerings and definitely not trash things that are actually good and making solid contributions to the genre. It's fine to dislike bad games! I'm not advocating turd-polishing for the sake of it, but if a game only cost say ¥2000 it's probably not fair to expect it to be Elf-tier. Also, the trend of ridiculously over-hyping any game that gets announced(just witnessed that with the new Lune game), heavy anticipation while waiting for release, and then being disappointed that the latest porn game for a niche fetish isn't the Second Coming is tiring as fuck and leads to a depressive or negative mood that's only broken up by requests for links, nostalgiafagging over old stuff, and restarting the cycle the next time something gets announced or a manga drops.
I wish for an NTR game which will blow my mind & soul but haven't found it yet.
We're all chasing that dragon, brother.
There's no physical dependency involved, but I'm convinced NTR is addicting. It does something to your brain and then, after a while, you're just like a heroin junky looking for the next fix. Only next time you need more or better quality shit. Something that did it for you when you first discovered the fetish will barely get a rise out of you after a while. Eventually, you might get to a point where 'average' games and stories barely effect you or don't even seem worth your time. Maybe that's what contributes to so much of the bitterness and disappointment here? We need NTR methadone...
