I wasn´t focused on Vaio ... I just mentioned some basic rules when sharing files ...
Ok ... Vaio was suspicious to me right from the beginning ... long time inactive and suddenly spamming tons of stuff without a "red line" ... though I couldn´t get a grip on the cause for my bad feeling ...

I just get the feeling, this escalates into some kind of witchhunt ... "X is posting wierd stuff" - "no Y got me an AV-alert" - "nah, Z got me infested" ...
As I said in first place ... don´t get hysterical, not every alert is a virus ... keep calm and use your common sense ...

Speaking from personal experience, it's too late to panic when the malware wipes out your entire drive in seconds anyway. And that certain malware came from an upload of Tessu (Onegai Tasukete! IIRC), who was one of the more respected uploader. Free stuff always comes with a risk, so it's always nice to have people alert you beforehand. As for the "witchhunt", it's still preferable than the alternative anyway, especially in light of people deliberately sharing malicious stuff.

We can only hope for those brave souls (or victims) to test the waters xD, but this time it does look like a virus, i downloaded 1 game from him and my antivirus jumped, normally it grabs the crack but this time the file grabbed looks like the exe that executed the virus, the biggest proof was that the game worked fine without it. i also erased the other files named, and it still works ok.

I wouldn't comment on konekokica, because I neither know if he is Vaio, nor if his shares have any malware inside.

Regarding Vaio's shares, I personally downloaded and saw the processes run before reporting it. I even repeated the extraction a few times to make sure it was those files. Which is partly why I could post on how to identify and remove/stop it.

I do understand that it is common for antivirus to identify wrong files at times (better safe than sorry), but I did some searching on this ErrorCheck virus before I alert the community. If I encounter more of these weird stuff, I might report it again to minimize the number of people caught offguard.

As for witchhunt, I don't personally support it, but feel free to do your own tests and research, just don't burn the young, beautiful innocent virgins while at it, there are better things to do to them, given the forums we are in, LOL.



Do try to ensure it is truly a danger before reporting, else we might cause more trouble to the admins and community than we are trying to help.

As for anyone who might face similar risks or threats, do voice out, maybe we can find some way to resolve, as well as to have less victims. You can report some threads and maybe some brave souls(a.k.a idiots) may test it like this time. I do have a second OS installed in another drive (was upgrading but delayed to switching over), so probably its ok to screw up this current one anyway. For any one else out there, do try your best to protect yourself!

Yesterday there was another suspected release but unfortunately i didn't bookmarked the post to remember the username, he was an user with 3 posts active but only one in the current board section so i wonder where was the other two posts, maybe a different section of the board with different infected files?

The file i downloaded is named SexandgloryampLessonofPassionGamesCollection.exe and has the same malware of vaio releases.

I think thats from konekokica, might be banned already. Someone did mention anti virus blocking it in one of those threads, and he claimed it was a false accusation. Didn't download it, no idea.
