GREAT Anime of 2012 by far! (for me) Animation was great, story was very good (far better than OVA) and nice lesson! 8 episodes of full awesomeness!

Spoiler: Final episode & thought

I loved every second of it. It managed to touch the very human nature and gave sort of life lesson in a twisted but realistic kind of way. Pain is part of life and part of what makes us who we are...It's a bit emo but the finale was surprisingly dramatic. It was great to see the avatars with some degree of emotion, finally. And for a really short run time, series managed to give itself surprisingly extended ending coverage.

Final thought
Officially my favorite anime this season. Story was complex but easy to understand, genious metaphors, just the right amount of drama, great character developments, and last but not least, NO CENSOR! About the only thing I was disappointed with is the short run time. I hope to see more of BRS series adaptation in the future (this time hopefully the PSP version with WRS in it).

And I would still kill to see BRS and Mato switching places in an OVA of sort.

IMO the anime is way better than the OVA , not only they did put more chars into it but also they didnt "messed up" with the timeline of events.

I agree a lot of people prefer the OVA over the anime. While I like the OVA and the art/designs, the TV series is pretty good too, very deep and i love how everyone is connected to each other. very touching too.

wikia mentions that its possible that insane brs is the change in mato's mental state, the rumors before the series came out was that it was gold saw + brs = insane brs but now of course its diff. and holy crap at strength in the end lol
