Do you regret something?

mmmmm if i am alive it doesn't matter any material thing it can be rebuilt or replace it it human life can't be replaced

yeap i will fill terrible that's for sure but i Am alive in the end ;)

Just wondering why some people would regret something, while others who did the same wouldn't regret it.
Like for ex, if you went to jail for X years for upload/downloading something, would you regret everything related to that? orrr there was just one thing you said to someone, and wish you could take it back. or Wish you made a different impression on other people and kept in line with who you wanted to be. Regret can be powerful either in a good or bad way, we might not even think about what we regret or just not acting on it. Even if we can't go to the source, we could still act on a new resolve, and be that example instead.

sooo for this topic, think of something you regret and what you can do for the better~ or think of something you probably should regret and how changing that could be important to your would-be life :3
Another interesting thing to think about is to wonder why some people don't regret something that others would. What do you think makes them different? Is there a special way to heal from regrets, or something like that?

Sorry SnowAngel, this is going to be a long post. But I'll try to keep it short for everyone sake. Due to my long-winded remarks can arouse unintentionally delivered messages that is not the spirit of the message. And, if I make a terrible joke, please ignore it. I've never succeeded in making people laugh with my jokes.

All in all, it's an opinion with experience and advice behind it. After all, I'm pretty ancient.

----------------------------

You see, in life there many forms of emotion and attachment that can cause this type of feeling, regret. Like you have mentioned, mistakes is the more common ones that create that feeling. But generally I feel that if you regret something, than try to resolve it. If possible that is. Sometimes it's not possible. Then I would feel that the best next move is to not make the same mistake.

People in general will have different form of attachment based on their full nature. Personality, characteristics, traits, likes, dislikes, relationships and so on. All these factors will cause different feelings and reactions based on things people call an action/event/occurrence something they regret. Just on these things alone will make the individual being (person for this case) react according to their total make up of who they are. Without that, we would be similar to robots without the emotional programs attachment included in the programming routine.

Without the sense of regret, it would leave us the inability to decide and learn from particular matter that individuals don't wish to experience again. Why it sounded past tense? Due to the nature of the word, regret, you need something to happen that you wished to never happen for the meaning to exist.

There's no easy way to answer how to recover from regret. It comes down to circumstance and the weight of the particular regret that bears on their shoulders or mind. There are times where you will never forget a particular regret as it what made you who you are. But unhealthy obsession, can and will, destroy you eventually. Be aware between the difference of trying to make a good change in your life and being obsessed with a impossible possibility to return it back to original state or something before the event occurred.

Ah... I think I went on too long.

Thank you for reading this post and I'll edit in the other responses above this post another time. It seems age is already reaching me, causing me to give young ones a long preach about something that you may already understand to a certain extent. Forgive my long and winding post. However, if there an action you're about to do that you feel you probably will regret. Then don't do it. It may be for the best if you can not take the responsibly of your own actions.

hmm...regrets....maybe a little..but now i'll try my best to live my life, so.. no time for regret

anything, it's just wasting your energy anyway:)

I regret nothing!

Not even the stupid amount of money spent on korean mmo accounts.

That money well spent. Like the money i wasted on swords and anime figurines.

I always wondered back in HF whether you have licence to wield those weapons or whether it is allowed in your respective area. I'm pretty sure we're not even allowed to carry a machete for dense forest areas unless the individual can prove it use is legitimate. Even then, the machete can be confiscated until the papers are done at the station to retrieve it back.

According to the law its illegal to carry any kind of weapon imaginable. Then again, the reglamentation its flexible and depends on the context.

At least when it comes to bladed weapons. Guns are another story altogether.

Basically they care about the purpose of carriying it around. In the worst case they may
take it away from you and leave it at that.

Since i am a martial artist im supposed to be carriying swords around so... unless i made a fool of myself swinging
the katana around downtown its not like anyone would ask me anything.

Then again, if you happen to come across some policeman lacking common sense i dont doubt that the swords
would be confiscated in the spot and eventually destroyed without me being able to do anything.

Ah okay. I didn't know you were a Martial Artist that wields Kanata, so I was curious for quite some time. Thanks for being open about the talk in regards to wielding Katana and having them as your personal possession.

I would agree on the point about the laws being flexible in regards how it is put into context. Which consents with the current status that martial artists, military personnel and other occupations that requires them to carry a weapon of some sort. Whether it's illegal or not, depends on the country like every other around the world.

But yeah, rarely you'll find a policemen who would lack common sense. Especially after all the training they should of received in terms of laws and other materials related to those situations. I haven't seen any that has destroyed weapons that was confiscated. On the other hand, this is slightly off-topic, I have heard people cars being crushed for not-so-legal modifications in my country.

mmh-mmh.. some decisions in life, yes. that's what i regret, yes.

I used to trust in the police, but when i was a kid they took me in, just because i was walking NEAR a public demostration. There were some guys fighting the cops, throwing stuff and all... since i had nothing to do with it, i did not care, and did not ran away from the place... So when the guys came in my direction, the cops grabbed anyone they could even those who had nothing to do with the whole thing. So regardless of my protests they took me to the station and did not release me until hours later when my mum came from her job to get me.

Cops are retarded bullies. Period. -_-u If you feel like it, you can find an almost infinite number of videos of cops being total arseholes.

So much for believing on their good judgment.

Yeah, I know what you mean by that. Even though they have training and so forth. It doesn't change the fact that people are people and some individuals are more likely to do a bad job than good when it comes down to their personal interests. I have no idea why would arrest a kid who happens to be near a protest. But that's just some really bad experience you have there.

Personally, I don't have much faith in police in my country. I rather label them as peacekeepers of the government or self interest. Whether that is true, is another matter. For some reason I contradicted myself but I'll be honest, I have a lot of contradiction in my thoughts about each thing in life.

In the end, there should be commonsense but I feel that's a very vague word in itself. Hmm... a better word would be responsible thinking and processing. No doubt the police who took you to the station may not have it. Don't know how they treat kids when they hold them but I agree you can find plenty of bad videos about them really...

Well, i think that i get your point. I do trust them to a point. They are supposed to be keepers of the public safety... and do
that job quite effectively most of the time. I can trust on them as a group but not as individuals.

My personal regret is not putting in the right amount of work at the right time. But that;s something pretty much everyone feels at one time or the other.

I regret when i have a chance to live in Germany and i blow it but from the things that are now i am better :)

Regrets... I have plenty.

:@I regret that years ago, I was too shy to tell how I felt to a girl I was really in love with.

:@I regret that, for so many years, I worked so hard for the benefit of others without taking time for my own life.

:@I regret that I don't live in Japan. ( Even knowing that life is hard there right now )

:@I regret that I am not married to Nana Mizuki

:@I regret that I didn't register sooner to Anime-sharing

well that's the uniqueness of each human. we have different tastes, likes and dislikes. different strengths and weaknesses. i have a sister who believes everyone is as capable as she is, but its really not like that. everyone is different.
i did regret a few things, relationship wise when i was younger, but now that i'm older, i'm grateful for the experience, i think that's why i don't regret anymore because it's really just a waste of time. and the saying that "things happen for a reason" is starting to settle within my life, because it's very true. people you meet, events that happen, they're there for a reason.

There is always something to regret IF you think about it...
But if you keep a open mind and accept the things go the way they should go
Both the bad things and the good things then you can easily forget allot of regrets :)
