Hongfire offline?

I can't report issues to a thread loading into a network timeout...

I can't say how much (D)DoS are running against HF, but the regular traffic should be perfectly manageable with some decently set up HTTP, PHP and SQL services. There is gallery, no download section, many many regulars have already abandoned the forum. It cannot have anything close to it's original bandwidth and CPU requirement unless some vBulletin update really screwed it up. Then again, that's an issue vBulletin should be able to work out... at least over a course of over a year now.

I made my AS account right around the time I made my HF account and used both semi-moderately. Once HF became my primary board, my AS account fell by the way side. Now that HF is down so frequently, my choices are to use this stable board that has all the content I enjoy on HF, or just wait around for a not so stable board to come back up for a day before it shits the bed again. I'm not saying HF is a waste of time.. But AS is quickly becoming my preferred forum because all the people and content that I follow on HF are here too!

Yeah, I do think that the new current hardware HF is running on can't handle the new vBulletin given the size of the database. I guess the proper way to go about it would be to archive the oldest data and remove it from the database. It would still be accessed in read-only mode.

It's back on, please report any hongfire issue.

Well, like De Kus said, I can't access Hongfire reliably enough to report issues either, so, yeah, same problem as everyone I guess. Trying to access it from my location (Japan), it takes over 5 minutes to load a page.

Anyway, nice to find this community. よろしく!I knew about AS, but never really used this forum before because HF covered all my needs.
Heh, with HF and Nyaa going down at the same time, it kinda reminds me of when the Plasticman Network went tits up two decades ago. Suddenly everyone was scrambling to find new sources for their anime, ero, roms, etc. But hey, the good news is, people back then figured out ways to keep getting their hands on what they wanted, and it will happen this time too.

So what is up with the tons of adware and pops up on HF now? Never used to be like that before. Lots of bs pop up links and/or false infected and must contact Microsoft. It is extremely annoying.

Well, if you registered, you won't be able to see those ads.

Haven't happened until recently though...I had been looking at HF on my phone (w/o login) just fine until a couple days ago when popup windoes come up every few minutes.

Sorry to resurrect the thread, but it seems like the website is definitely gone now, so RIP :(

I was a HF refugee when I first came here. They removed all the filesharing forums, so I had to find a new forum. It's sad to see it finally dead.

F.

It's back up. Still overrun with bots, and it's probably impossible to register easily, but it's back.
Oh... seems like hong is still around then, except he doesn't give a shit and only use it for the ads or something.
I think I'd prefer it dead than in this poor state in a way.

At this point it would be better if it DID just simply go offline forever. Seeing it rot away with no mods/admins and littered with bots is horrible.

One thing is for sure: whining here will change nothing!

There are threads in the community center for this purpose. And in the past HongFire read them even if he didn't answer. So complain there! You have my fullest support and appreciation.

I left HF after all moderators and admins went MIA one by one without any notice, the spam bots finally started to invade my own threads and I could not do anything about that. I never went back since then and I am not planning to ever do. I even deleted the link to HF in my own library.

What happened to the mods and admin anyways? I read that they got hacked and the hackers ask for ransom, so maybe they never paid and lost access?

I can't properly access my private messages there (waves at EchelonV), and have received two spam blackmail attempts that apparently originate from an attempt to log into HF. (They included an incomplete version of my password, and referenced my computer's webcam, without noting that said camera is permanently covered with a Post-It note. <snort>) I reported the attempts via SpamCop.

Why does the "socialzon" site open when I visit hongfire? Was Hongfire hacked? I need to download a couple of plugins for Honey Select, but they are only there. By the way, the "socialzon" site also opens when you try to open some other sites.

It's probably finally dead, you should try to find them elsewhere. Maybe try on Nyaa or ask around here if people have them.

The main questions that torment me.
Now where to look for mods and other files from the community of players - (I agree, too, interested!)
What the f**k happened! Why there is no information anywhere.:surprised:

-No decisions about blocking from owners of hosting, domina, etc. including court warrants and orders.
-There are no messages from the administration of Hongfire itself
-No messages on redite and similar places.

Puff is magic.:shockmenft:
If it weren’t for the topic on this forum, you might find yourself crazy about the Black Mirror series. :disbelief::forsaken:
