How badly do you need to organize your anime/harddrive collections?

Sigh...I have so so so very much to organize, for the last 4 years I've literally been dumping all my manga, games, eroge, music ...basically anything anime related be it print, game or media into 3 main folders. I've been slowly backing everything off onto bluray discs by date and year, theme, ect. When I first started doing that I actually organized it companies or major titles but now I'm just trying to keep it organized at least by year and month. Mostly so I can keep track of what I've downloaded and haven't.

I currently in the process of backing up for windows 1903 build and watching me move more stuff off my main drive to my storage drive before burning it to blu ray in massive copy paste movements, I'm just like...its gonna take me a month to properly organize all this and I know for that fact alone I probably just keep putting it off.

My eroge game collection is the worse because I don't have the time to play them all and just keep downloading every new release that looks good to me. I'm years and years behind playing so many of them.

Of course then their is the manga folder, anime, ect ect and we aren't even talking about adult stuff here. Thats a whole OTHER massive directory of printed media I'm actually really behind on downloading too.

So how about you guys and girls? Are you good at keeping all your content organized? Do you download JUST what you really love, or do you downloading and save anything that interests you too?

Do you backup your content at all for that day your drive dies?

I didn't do, back up and it become costly for me personally. After all, saving up only 1 terabyte should be enough, in case everything fails.
Unless you hoard high tier rips, games (some alone go up to 48Gt) etc. I'd say 75% music, is my interest currently.
Hmm, more realistically why would someone dl 1,7 terabytes of touhou music only. Had a look on one file recently.
I don't know about organizing too much, but I plan to learn better once I start piling up manga properly. Yes, Physically.
Keeping more than 3 high tier things, just does work for me - although if I were hoarding, I wouldn't tell you.
Got less than 20 visual novels atm, I don't bother so some of them break oftenly, I like to mess around my Pc regularly.

I got about more than 10 TB of files in storage. no backup but quite neatly organized into main folders folders and subfolders. the main folders are games, music, books, application, and others. I divided my games into 2 subfolders: VN and Non-VN and my books into Manga, Ero Manga, Ero Doujin, and others for my movies into 3 subfolders anime, real, ero anime, and real porn. I also keep various list of all the files i put on my harddrive using the dir > command, so i can easily check my files. Its tedious but worth it. oh, and I also have the same tendency as you to collect various games, manga, ero that I havent played and keep downloading new ones. till this day i have more than 1000 games and manga and ero that i havent had the time to enjoy, but put it like this , imagine one day you have a day off or lots of free time and you dont know what to do, while normal people would just find an activity or something, you already have the entertainment ready at hand waiting to be played and some of them are gems waiting to be enjoyed.
