I leave it to Ren Nanase to answer what OS is being used to test this game on their side.

Personally, I think you have practically all the basics programs required to run it. C++ tends to be a big one for a lot of visual novels games. I still think you should install Microsoft .NET Framework 4. The Codec pack is optional but rarely makes an impact on running a game.

Yes, Window 8 has a lot of problems running older software of all types if it uses the old window libraries. Most applications will run fine, assuming it does not rely on old libraries or uses a dynamic library to call up resources from the Windows libraries. With that said, the way I understand it is that it uses a stoic form of data gathering rather than dynamic form which can adapt to new and old libraries in well coded applications.

And... I kind of now figured that you run a HP Window 8 64-Bit system with the applications currently installed on your system.

EDIT: Have you consider doing a dual boot? Depending on your computer technical knowledge and skills, it may be more a viable option. Otherwise, if you're not bent on playing this game then I think you should consider this a case where it's best played on a older OS system. And move on other visual novels you want to play instead.

Or... you can always emulate a Window 7 environment with a Virtual Machine Emulator but you will need someone who can help you work through it. Personally for me, I haven't been successful in that area. Explanation and practicability in using and installing the updates via virtual network is something I don't like and enjoy.

there is one more game from this studio where you have to change things in "setup.ini"

Assuming you're downloaded the game where those two cracks are found. Yes, you would need to change the setup.ini as instructed by Ren Nanase. This is to ensure the game pathing to start the game is correct and creates zero errors.

Windows 7.
As for windows 8 i havent touched it and honestly most likely will never so sorry. Only thing would be dual booting, or making an external HD into a windows 7 System and install all the games and play them via that external drive.

Which brings back to dual booting option again. If you have time and perhaps a bit of money, you can easily make a second OS work with your PC. It all depends on what you're comfortable with.

I've never had problems running any games before; I have all the typical settings.. ie: Japanese locale, non-Unicode Japanese,etc

I disabled my Anti-virus when I extracted the files & tried running the program. I copied the two files in the crack folder _IYASHIm.exe and the hidden IYASHIm.exe, I have Windows 8 so I've tried all compatibilty modes, running as admin, installing to different directories, but _IYASHIm.exe just opens then closes. (In task manager it shows up under background processes for a second before it disappears).

not sure what else to try! About to go bald from pulling my hair out. lol.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

1. Go to game directory, find the EXE file, the one which is actually starts the game
2. right click, properties
3. go to comability tab and Check run this program in compability mode for: and choose Windows 7
4. also check run this program as administrator
5. Click OK and try run this EXE file. If still doesn't work go back to step 3 and select Windows XP SP3 and if still doesn't work try other options to see if there is any difference

Unfortunately, I already had tried that with no success :(

Issue:
The window opens and then closes immediately & IYASHIm.exe shows up in Task Manager for only a second before disappearing under 'Background Processes'

Notes:
I am also running Windows 8.
I always just keep my pc locale as Japan & my non-unicode as Japanese ... I never bother changing it. haha
I have all the codecs (.OGG, etc)
Direct X is up to date


Things I have tried:
I downloaded from different sources just in case as well & tried the following with both
-tried both Win XP3 & Win 7 compatibilities
-Setup.exe : Change compatibility & run as both regular user and admin
-_IYASHIm.EXE : changed compatibility & run as both regular user and admin
-IYASHIm.EXE : changed compatibility & run as both regular user and admin
-Changed Install Directory
-In Setup.ini tried changing GameEXe=IYASHIm.EXE to GameExe=_IYASHIm.EXE
-Tried changing the Afinity CPU in Task Manager
-Disabled AVG Antivirus both when Unzipping the download and when installing and also added IYASHIm.EXE as an exception


I'm not sure what else to try. This is so frustrating!

Installed today, and it doesn't work on Win 8. I've the same problem as TDream mentioned. Did anyone make this work with Win 8?

I think its an issue with the method of crack that these particular Guilty+ games employ. For example the original version of this game works just fine for me on Win 8.1 64 bit. But this one, and others like it with the hidden file crack does not work.

In other words I think its an unsolvable problem unless someone went out of their way to try and make a different method of cracking it, which would seem unlikely. Best option would be just to play it in a virtual machine.

I think you use the wrong patch....the patch is for gakushoku no obasan the motion game

People using Windows 10 and having issues running the game. Old GuiltyPlus games don't work on Windows 10. If you want to play it you're going to have to download a Virtual Machine with Windows 7 and run it from there.
