I personally wouldn't mind that much if that happened. I may be alone in having this opinion but I'd like it if the abyssal ships could be with the good guys as well :P I especially like Re-class

I believe you get them from quests, or buy them from te store (not sure if there's a 3rd way).
If you had 2 you can get 3 more from some of the quests.

Usually give you one from event as well. Otherwise its limited to the one you get from quest or buy them

Just added 10 more slots for ships, and might add another 10. It's a pity that furniture fairies can't be obtained easier, but then again I guess that's what makes the furniture valuable. I'm pretty happy with my room atm, so I'll probably just continue farming furniture coins until new furniture in future updates catch my fancy.
