Hmmm...Arylin is from Malaysia. Malaysia. Malaysia. I was thinking about buying the Malaysian DVDs of the live action Taiho Shichauzo series. Because they're cheap. Do Malaysian DVDs have usually have hardsubs? The VCDs I bought from Malaysia back in the day have 3 sets of hardsubs, and that sucks.

Usually, though I haven't bought any pirated discs in years (don't care for most Western movies these days, and before I quit anime for manga I usually got my anime online aside from a short period when I bought actual physical copies). Our sellers and pirates aren't that savvy enough to come up with anything a fansub group could.

I did download the live action series back in the day, and though they can never be as crazy as the anime they have a charm of their own. The only thing I'm sorely missing is the extended ending of the anime's second season; the downloaded version cuts off after the credits, but the one shown on TV had it. Too bad back then I still used VHS for recording and we no longer have a player even if the tapes still worked...

That's too bad. I wouldn't mind buying the DVDs for 20 bucks if the 480p video could be used to upgrade the fansubs. :( The seller was no help either. When I asked if the subtitles could be turned off he said "yes, has enlgish subtitles." So helpful.
