In contrast to the popularity of Japanese animation, it's widely recognized that the income of creators is insanely low and animators and assistants are often called slaves. Its industrial structure, intermediary exploitation, grim working environment and piracy literally kill the animators.
庵野秀明(ANNO Hideaki), the anime director of Evangelion, said the Japanese anime industry will last only for a few more years.
