Music helps to set the mood of each scene; sadness, happiness, fear, etc. And I think we mostly need some musics that can tickle the player's anxiety when the characters enter the dream world (oops.. I hope I didn't spoil any plot here). :)

Anyone here can play musical instrument? or maybe editing notes with Fruity Loops (or other programs) ?

And about the number of love interest... I'd say let's start with something small - to test the water first - so that we could finish the VN within 3 month or less. And perhaps it's more practical for us to make an interesting story with 'reusable setting'... so that we can always make a sequel and add more characters later.
