Let's Create a VN!!!

Im guessing there would be at least 1 out of 5 people who'll say "wtf man? I thought I made all the right decisions!" :lmao:

thecoins; t's better to put a deadline for yourself, along with an overall schedule of the project (use Gantt chart or whatever that might help you).

thanks redcat, but there's a reason why i didn't set a deadline. everybody has their own real life. they probably busy irl. afterall creating VN isn't our main job, therefore no deadline is set.

Hmm i was jumping around and planning random parts ;p But yeah its mostly an outline atm~ Havent started writing unless ushio has?

samyeung46;
ummmm i might've mentioned before~ most likely we'll end up changing alot once we have a full story developed. Things would be changed pretty much everywhere~ so ideas for anything helps :P
The focus should be a working outline, then filling it with scene ideas. Changes would probably be made after that, then we'd make the actual content.
Don't be afraid to write without me XD you might come up with something better than me~ soooo don't hold back to much x-x

thecoins; okay... I respect you choice. :)
When I said 'deadline', it doesn't mean that you have to become a rigid like a 'pro' though.
It's more like a 'reminder', a commitment, a 'promise' to ourselves (all the team member) that we will finish the project - no matter what happen (well, shit happens all the time and I got caught unguarded once). The key is 'planning'.

I don't want to be a wise ass, so I'll just link you to some good readings about project planning - written by experts of the field. Quite a tl;dr for most people (but believe you'll give them a chance since you're a project leader).

Oh, and Good luck with this project. I'm really hoping the best from all of you guys :)

well, i want to do that, but probably i won't. like aexiel said, deadline is like a stress trigger. even without deadline, the project is still going smoothly. it still a good advice though~

the one thing I learned from being EIC in a publication is that deadlines only make stress, if you want things done great, do it in your own pace. if you want it just done then you sacrifice quality.

it depends where you work though, if you're working with professionals, you'll expect a deadline from them

Deadline-sterss is not good for the creative spirit in the core members-group (Character-designer, Background-designer, layout-designer and of course on the script/story-author)...~

Ah... finally... a VN by ASF! This a very interesting project. I'm looking forward to get my hand on the beta/demo version.

Well, you can as (yeah, with thecoins decide of course) beta-tester will...~

Yeah my ideas are kind of scattered atm too xD You sort of saw how i made two differentish outlines? Though the purpose of each was different... One was more about little goals to consider when we get to certain points and the other is just thoughts on events? xD I suppose any random ideas could be put towards another storyline?

we need story event, character building events, annnd butterfly events~ (just ones that lighten up the mood and all~)
i'm not that good with jokes soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
anyways random ideas will work til i can just go a full day straight thinking about this x-x

Hmm ok... i guess ill just write randomly until whenever xD Im not that great with female characters though... or well... characters in general xD

aexiel; I mostly agree with you; the greatest work can't be rushed (especially when we work alone).
Though from my first-hand experience, a teamwork with inadequate planning usually leads to stagnation (and I reeeeally hope it won't happen to this project - that's why I was so nosy earlier).

Nanashi; We can make it so that the deadline is not so stressful to them. :D
Oh well.. nevermind >_<
And yeah, I'll be happy to become a beta-tester (though I guess thecoins has enough of them already) :)

i'm okay with an abstract schedule~ it helps remind the person to work on stuff every once in a while~
just say to have something done at least once per week? or something like that~
the best thing to do is ask people about their progress and talk about it~ it's an indirect pressure/inspiration to keep working at something.

Lol that thing where people are more motivated if its random? :goodtea: Kind of how gamblers get addicted =.=
