A friend of mine used to run an infinite mana deck, he had these creatures, can't remember what they were called, we nicknamed them the flying fish. They would remove cards from your deck from the game, with the infinite mana and a bunch of tapping and untapping he would remove your entire deck from the game. Death by go! Very crazy and very fast deck.In the earliest days of Magic, when only the Alpha set was out, and there were no rules for deck building, someone made a deck that used NO land, and yet won games on the first turn 97% of the time.
It had 20 Black Lotus, 20 Lightning Bolt, and 20 Timetwister.
The opening hand would have some of each. Cast a Black Lotus for red mana, use the mana generated to cast the Lightning Bolts for damage, then cast another Black Lotus for blue mana to cast a Timetwister. Reshuffle your hand, graveyard, and library together, deal out 7 new cards, and repeat, till you've dealt lethal damage.
If your starting hand didn't have the cards you need, you were allowed a free Mulligan to get a new hand.
97% kill rate on the first turn.
Of course, the rules were quickly changed so a deck could only have 4 of a particular card (except basic lands,) to stop insane decks like these.
