who said it was only for little girls?!?
Its a family fun film in a sense, but I do agree it was Miyazaki's best work...
good! i've gotten back into Doctor Who!
Indeed, I was very happy when I first saw it too. Oh just Seri~ I need all. :P /me finds and pats imouto.

Doctor Who
Miyazaki's last film was actually The Wind Rises and it was released in 2013. Spirited Away was released in 2001. It was intended for his childhood friends who were girls at the time(so yes 10 year old girls). He read Shojou manga for it's inspiration, but instead he created a film that was unique and something that I doubt can be replicated...
I think the closest description is, it's the japanese version of Alice in Wonderland because of the surrealism..
well i didn't say it was his last film, i said he came out of retirement and made it. didn't he actually retire a few times? i don't know if i remember that right. and he didn't feel like shojuo really gave girls relatable characters, so he steered away from it. it definitely can't be replicated
I don't think he retired, he went on hiatus... He had two previous proposals for a new film, but they were both rejected. In asian culture they say third times the charm, so spirited away got accepted.
Yeah since most shoujo manga back then and nowadays gears toward romance... Also most of the characters are usually high-schoolers
Doctor Who
Since Seri is a superrr yandere and I have strong interest in him, I need bf like that /me hugs
Thanks to nee-chan, a lovely imouto is born Now I feel I'm better than some bitches met in my uni >.>
