spirited away was my first and favorite ghibli film. it was perfect. i don't care if it was made for little girls :crushed:

who said it was only for little girls?!?
Its a family fun film in a sense, but I do agree it was Miyazaki's best work...

well it's not only for little girls, but miyazaki wanted the main character to be someone young girls (more specifically, about 10) could easily relate to. he made it after he retired actually

good! i've gotten back into Doctor Who!

Doctor Who :reallyconfused:

Indeed, I was very happy when I first saw it too. Oh just Seri~ I need all. :P /me finds and pats imouto.

You're a lovely girl so don't think like that about yourself my dear. Haha yes the delicious food, always the best.

Miyazaki's last film was actually The Wind Rises and it was released in 2013. Spirited Away was released in 2001. It was intended for his childhood friends who were girls at the time(so yes 10 year old girls). He read Shojou manga for it's inspiration, but instead he created a film that was unique and something that I doubt can be replicated...
I think the closest description is, it's the japanese version of Alice in Wonderland because of the surrealism..

you've never seen it?!

well i didn't say it was his last film, i said he came out of retirement and made it. didn't he actually retire a few times? i don't know if i remember that right. and he didn't feel like shojuo really gave girls relatable characters, so he steered away from it. it definitely can't be replicated

I don't think he retired, he went on hiatus... He had two previous proposals for a new film, but they were both rejected. In asian culture they say third times the charm, so spirited away got accepted.
Yeah since most shoujo manga back then and nowadays gears toward romance... Also most of the characters are usually high-schoolers

i also liked how involved he was in its transition to the west. disney had distribution rights sure, but he had final say. and that's not often true when it comes to disney

I'm watching DH Astro, just waiting around till the major starts :bored:

/me enters the properly LPW and greets... Hi friends...:runhappy:

i remember the most useless thing from my dream. sensei changed his avatar :sigh:

Hi Ryzen. If possible, can you update this please? The amount of game-breaking bugs are hideous. Many thanks.
