hmmm I don't feel like using mentions or wtv soo~

kinda long x_x
I'm not sure where I've mentioned this before (earlier in this lpw or the last one), but anywayyss~ I'm a psychology major aannddd I have learned and am interested in learning a few things about how people think. :goodtea: One thing I'm wanting to get around is gender stereotypes to see how people would treat me based on personality rather than knowledge of gender~ In other words, if I say one or the other, certain people would slowly start treating me accordingly. There are cases where you can say I'm a guy or girl, but people would assume either based on the impression. I do plan on telling people one day~ some may be surprised, others not. :P

The thing that really bothers me is the slight assumptions for either gender~ girls might be considered overemotional, treated more carefully, and sometimes ppl act like they don't know what they're talking about. (happens to me all the time lol XD).
For the majority of guys here (depending on who you talk to~) Some may carelessly talk about things I consider bad and very unhealthy for their minds~ (you know who you are :P). Simply knowing that bothers me~
umm anyway, if I'm considered a guy, ppl are less careful to use certain words that either hurt/scare/bother me.

Overall it probably doesn't make much sense~ but I plan on making a topic for it soon :P The biggest thing I want to show is that girls can have certain "guy characteristics" and guys have girly ones? :P There's already one girl (kimmy) who showed the first~ I think ahgwee and some others could help with the other. I kinda just want to break down that wall~ :goodtea:
Just an fyi, I'm 100% straight x_x lol

anyway~ test today and tomorrow :f ttyl.
idk if you read earlier Kasumi good luck with finding a nickname XD

I can relate to the girl with guy characteristics. I was such a tomboy that some times I wasn't even considered as a girl (I've even made some guys cry before because I was playing too rough). xD I remember one day a few years ago when I wore a new hair-tie to school. I usually wore regular, black rubber bands but this one was a white satin-like scrunchy. When my friend saw me, she started mock-crying and saying 'I'm so proud of you, you're finally a girl now!'

~SnowAngel~ I think I'll just use Ushio - all my ideas were dumb. It's safer that you don't hear them. xD

some examples I can give~
me and kimmy are into computers/technology. I and several girls around the world are into hard-core games that are considered "manly" games. One problem is a person's expectation that says kimmy should "act like a girl" because she is one.

There are girls who hate pink, like sports, hate shopping, etc.

There are guys who do ballet, wear pink, and freely express their emotions. (yet society pressures them to keep it all in)

Soo what I'm getting at is people can't be considered one or the other based on common behavior. It's majorly based on biology. But because there are some thinking differences (And guys are kinda dull lol) people usually think there's a huge difference.
I've noticed that it bothers some guys for girls to do "guy things" since it kinda hurts their pride to be bested by a girl XD

Also, it's still considered inappropriate for guys to do certain "girl things" such as painting nails, wearing skirts, sewing, babysitting, etc.
i still think some of those (like nail painting) is a boundary that shouldn't really be crossed, but I've not really thought of why~
In the past, girls have always worn skirts. but today, they've been able to wear jeans.
Another ex: women were the only ones to cook, now there are men who can cook better than their wives.

Soooo~ anyone else interested in asking "why" so far? XD

I'm more for the 'why not' actually. Does there really have to be a reason? As long as what you're doing is something you want to do and not detrimental or causing undue harm to yourself or other people, I say you should be free to do whatever.

Speaking of guys, there was this one time one of my male classmates decided to pull a prank on another friend in a different class but the same year. So he borrowed a wig and some clothes from one of my friends and dressed up as a girl. To conceal his identity, he wore a mask. A mutual friend helped arrange a 'blind date' at the park and... let's just say the prank was a success. xD

girls behave like guys or the opposite is normal for me, as long as it's isn't like transgender...
