You have to gauge it to the course. But I've done that for several courses in University with fantastic results. I've also put in TONS of work into a few essays in other courses and had mediocre results. Actually now that I think of it, it was only ever one essay for one course... and that prof just marked everything stupidly tough (to the point of being arguably unfair) so... *shrugs*

If you can just make garbage up, then it goes really quickly. I had to do some... I think it was only like 3 pages "formal paper" for a class once that I wrote in under two hours and got an A+ on. Sometimes the real work is figuring out what you can get away with XD
