This will be the first time I test it, apparently if done right/implemented properly (disregard the 3d rdy features) it will make you addicted/ or just said to be awesome in other words.

The fast ones seems to be haunted by the 'washed out colors' though it might not be so bad as it might sound, since I haven't actually seen it with my own eyes. Also they are limited to 1920x1080 res only, which some might argue is starting to not be enough for a relatively large 27". So I might reconsider a 24" then if I find one that has at least good blacks. Which I might already have found since one of the diff i n oticed on two screens was that the 27" had only edge LED but the 24" variant had full LED array backlighting.

I guess I haven't heard much about it because I'm not really interested, but I could see how it could potentially be fun. :)
Yeah there is SO MUCH research one can do about monitors. I find that 24 inches is a pretty good size, as I have two of them.
One a normal TN panel, that's 16:9 (VS248H-P, precicely) that I got for a pretty good price (around $170, iirc), that I generally just keep at super low brightness and contrast so it is very easy on the eyes.
The other is a P-IPS 16:10, and it is quite beautiful. I actually got this one before my cheaper monitor, and I only realized just how good it really was when I got my other one in that people were saying had such good colours/contrast and such. Tweaked the settings a bunch on the VS24, and it still looks like crum-crap compared to my IPS. :P

In the end it didn't matter though, since I actually wanted my second screen to just be a cheap way to get more space, and I intended for it to be a lot duller so that I could put things on it with lots of white (ASF, for example) without it getting glaring after a while. Only problem is that the stands are different heights... I still need a decent way to make my cheap one tall enough.
