Are you serious? I'm guessing don't know what bio-engineering is, then. I have a friend going into that. I expect he will be making pretty ridiculous money. It is a very high science where you need a whole crap-ton of schooling. Basically these are the people making other body parts out of specialized cells and such. They keep making breaking news because of all of the recent advancements (probably one of the most recent was using a modified printer to print skin cells onto burn wounds to heal/protect them).


Basically just reword it: they engineer with living things.

Well to be honest some of the things they deal with do have controversy. The whole stem-cell research area, that is.

I guess I can empathize with you, I did not like high school very much, but that was largely because I wasn't actually learning anything there. In last year the only class I liked what Physics, because it was the only one that I felt like I was learning anything interesting (I guess I learned some junk in Pre Calculus, but that was pretty boring to me).

Most of them would be in research, or working in places like hospitals I would guess. I'm not sure if you are trying to mislead me with your question though, as while they are still "students" then yes I suppose they would probably benefit from making a discovery. Students are not usually hired, but after they graduate. Because of his previous engineering education, my previously mentioned friend works at Bowing during the summer (the large airplane company). I'd guess he is making more money this summer than anyone else from our school is.

Personally, I found biology monstrously boring, and decided not to take it in high school.

Well, for instance, what kind of jobs do you think are available for a Psychologist. The answer is very similar for a scientist.

A psychologist either practices psychology, or teaches it while researching. Very similar for a scientist, though they can also work for larger groups perhaps more easily.



I guess I was just a man of physics I found it pretty enjoyable. Fun, even.

This is probably only true in very rare circumstances (the company would probably have to be very large, with good benefits).
I think in general you would be surprised to see just what jobs are available. For something like a scientist with high education, starting wages are almost guaranteed to be rather high (much like a doctor is for the same reasons) and their research can be funded through government, privately, or through an institution. They could also teach at a university while doing research on the side. I'm sure there are even more options, but alas I am not in that field and do not know.

Also, a desire to know things is one of the best things in the world, in my opinion, so if you have a question you might as well ask.

I think I probably like getting asked questions in general, because it gets me to think of the question as a problem and try to solve it, and then I probably learn something new. XD

In general, I will know almost no specific knowledge about something when asked other than my wealth of general knowledge, but just from thinking about it I can give an okay answer that usually end up being pretty correct. ;)
