when i look closer at my new sig, i think the magic brush tool in gimp isn't very good left the legs a bit jagged in area's...

i started making my own in may i think. for lettering, i've taken a liking to making my username only visible because of the glow. if you look closely, the actual lettering is invisible. but that's my thing!! don't steal it lol

haha, that looks nice i know how to do that roughly, but i havent used many of the tools in the GIMP program, and i never thought to have the text match the background i felt it had to match the character haha

it depends on your own preferences. i mean, [MENTION=10646]brother[/MENTION]; gets the unique text from the VN he's playing. you use GIMP? i use photoshop. CS6

that's actually the way i do it most of the time, but sometimes it's easier the other ways. it depends

well that's a good thing. i get too lazy sometimes though. i've actually done a horrible job rendering, and i just cover it up by using the right glow effect. hardly noticeable. but they're not very flexible
